Mrs June Arthurs opened the Bridport News last week and was thrilled to see a picture of her then 16-year-old daughter Sarah Groves playing in the Colfox Big Band.

She says her daughter still plays and teaches – but in France.

Rose Barker and Sarah Pitcher identified Peter Brown as the headmaster and Hannah Plowman knew it was Chris Tolley at the front.

Young Chris was also remembered by Maria Louise Schollar, who recalled lots of girls had a crush on him as he was also very good at sports, she said.
