THIS is the last edition with photographs from Marilyn Sealy of West Bay who lent us nearly 50 of her family photographs.
We hope they have been bringing back memories for many of our readers.
Many of the photos belonged to her late uncle Alf Hallett.
Her mother was Lucy Hallett, who worked in Elmes, her dad Albert Chubb who worked at Gundrys, her uncle Alf Hallett, and his brother-in-law Don Crumpton.
Her uncle’s wife was Marjorie-Ann, known in the family as Queenie and her father was Albert Crumpton who was an engine driver on the branch line that included West Bay.
Her uncle Alf married in April 1940.
Majorie-Ann worked at Elmes until she was 70. She became manageress.
This week the pictures show Bridport as it celebrated George V’s Jubilee Day on May 6, 1935, and King George VI’s Coronation Day on May 12, 1937.
Once again we would like to thank Mrs Sealy for her generosity in letting us share her precious family albums.
Anyone else who has family treasures like these, we’d love to hear from you.
