THE Regent Cinema is putting on two special showings of The French Lieutenant’s Woman.
It is following the sell-out charity screening of Lyme’s other film, All Over the Town, at the end of May.
Based on the celebrated novel by John Fowles and starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons, cinema manager David Johnson said it is the ideal film to programme as part of Lyme Regis ArtsFest.
Mr Johnson said: “Because of the lovely photography of the town and the Cobb, and the affection felt for the film by so many local people, we are expecting to be busy, particularly since the film hasn’t been shown for a few years now.”
The film will be shown on Wednesday, September 21 and there are two performances at 2.45pm and 5.45pm.
Normal ticket prices apply and reservations are already being taken, especially for the balcony.
The usual Wednesday matinee, of Jane Eyre, will now be on Thursday, September 22.
