A talk on the history of hats is set to raise funds for Bridport's Millennium Green.

The event will be held at WI Hall, Bridport, on Thursday, September 17, at 2.30pm.

Sue Outhwaite from T Snooks, Hatters, will be leading the talk.

The event is organised by the Friends of Bridport Millennium Green, who host fundraising activities to maintain the Mountfield Garden and Coneygar Hill as community spaces.

The summer jigsaw and book stall alone raised over £300.

Tickets for the hat talk are £7 on the door, and £6 for members.

The group also encourages the public to become Friends of Bridport Millennium Green, offering individual life membership for £100 or annual membership for £5, providing a consistent source of income for the upkeep of the area.
