LYME Regis Fossil Festival continues today after drawing crowds to the town on its opening day.
Thousands of visitors flocked to Marine Parade and the surrounding areas on Saturday for the first day of the UK's largest paleoethology event, with sunshine helping to create a busy and vibrant atmosphere along the seafront.
Families, fossil enthusiasts and visitors of all ages enjoyed a packed programme of activities, including hands-on workshops, guided fossil walks and live entertainment.
Stalls selling fossils, crafts and artwork proved popular, while talks and exhibits from leading experts and organisations attracted strong interest throughout the day.
The festival returns today (Sunday) with another full programme of events, including more talks, performances and family-friendly activities across Marine Parade and the Town Mill area.
Children can continue to enjoy free entry to Lyme Regis Museum, while visitors also have the chance to see a rare fragment of a letter written by famed fossil hunter Mary Anning.
Organisers are encouraging people to come along and make the most of the final day of the UK’s largest palaeontology festival.
Pictures from day one show the scale of the crowds and the wide range of activities on offer.
