A two-lorry crash has closed a major road in west Dorset.
Emergency services were called to the A35 at Litton Cheney just after 2.30pm this afternoon.
Initially, part of the westbound carriageway was blocked, but Dorset Police since put road closure in place between Bridport and Winterbourne Abbas.
Heavy traffic was reported in the area as a result.
No injuries have been reported.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 2.32pm on Wednesday, October 16 of a road traffic collision on the A35 between Winterbourne Abbas and Bridport, near to the turning for Litton Cheney.
"Initial report was that the collision involved two lorries.
"Officers have attended and road closures have been put in place as they respond to the incident.
"Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek an alternative route if possible. We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding."
The road re-opened at 4.45pm.
