Emergency searches have been carried out for a person in distress.
Coastguard crews from West Bay were called following concerns that a person seemed to be in a state of distress under Burton Cliffs between Freshwater and Hive Beach.
The team were called out at 10.21am today (Monday, September 30).
Upon arrival, binocular searches were carried out and with no one appearing to be in distress, the crew were stood down.
A spokesperson for West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team said: “We were paged to reports of persons possibly in distress under Burton Cliffs in between Freshwater and Hive Beach.
“Coastguard Officers attended and carried out binocular searches from Freshwater Beach to the east, and from Hive Beach to the west. With no persons appearing to be in distress the team was stood down to return to station. “
