A flood alert has been issued as heavy rain continues
At around 12.45pm on Thursday, September 26, the Environment Agency issued a flood alert for West Dorset rivers and streams due to heavy rainfall forecast this afternoon.
The areas most at risk of flooding include the Rivers Lim, Char, Winniford, Simene, Brit, Asker, Mangerton and Bride.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "We will continue to monitor the situation and river levels. People in this area should consider taking action now.
"We urge all people to take care and consider activating any property flood resilience products if available.
"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water."
