Coastguard crews rushed to the aid of two people after they found themselves in difficulty off the coast.
Crews from West Bay and Lyme Regis were called at around 8.30pm yesterday (Saturday, September 14), to two people who had come into difficulty onboard a boat off of Eype Beach.
Upon arrival, coastguard officers wearing water rescue equipment were deployed to check on the welfare of the owners and the boat.
Fortunately, both people that were originally on board were found safe and well and the officers were able to position the boat above the high-water mark for the owners to collect in the morning.
A spokesperson for West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team said: “We were paged alongside Lyme Regis Coastguard to a vessel in difficulty with two persons on board off Eype beach.
“On arrival, coastguard officers wearing water rescue equipment were deployed to check on the welfare of the owners and vessel.
“With the owners safe and well, the vessel was assisted to a position above the high-water mark for the owners to recover in the morning. The teams were then stood down.”
