The Bridport branch of the Royal British Legion will be hosting a talk about on of the Second World War's largest military operations.
Following the success of the presentation on D-Day in the summer, Bridport Royal British Legion President Brigadier John Dean will give a presentation on the Second World War campaign titled Operation Market Garden.
The operation was fought in German occupied Netherlands between the 17th and 25th of September 1944. Its objective was to create a salient into German territory with a bridgehead over the lower Rhine river.
Gliders flew from RAF Tarrant Rushton near Blandford as part of the operation.
The presentation will take place at Bridport Town Hall on Thursday, September 19 at 7.00 pm.
Entrance is free and refreshments will be served.
