A WEST Dorset road will be closed so repair work can be carried out to a bridge.

Part of Camesworth Lane, Oxbridge, which is off the A3066, will be shut from Monday, September 9.

This is so Dorset Council can carry out repair works to Oxbridge Bridge.

The road will be shut either side of Oxbridge Bridge, a distance of approximately 15 metres.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 20.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
