A tree has fallen and damaged a road in West Dorset.
Early this morning a tree collapsed by the B3165 at Hawkmoor Hill near to Marshwood.
Dorset Police confirmed that while the tree was not blocking the road, the road surface had been damaged.
The local authority has been informed about this issue.
Traffic may be slow around the area.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 6.45am that the road surface had been damaged after a tree had fallen by the B3165 at Hawkmoor Hill near to Marshwood.
"It was reported that the tree was not blocking the road. The local authority was notified."
The Bridport and Lyme Regis news has contacted Dorset Highways for comment.
