A man was found with a knife after a fight broke out in Bridport town centre.

Police said a fight occurred involving two men who are known to each other in South Street.

It is reported that one of the men was in possession of a knife, but no direct threats were made and no one was injured.

It has been reported that there was an assault.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The fight happened between 12.30am and 1am on Saturday, August 3.

Police Constable Dan White, of West Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and I am now keen to speak to any witnesses in the area.

“I would also ask any residents or businesses with CCTV, or motorists who were in the area with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
