A rural road will be closed to allow for drainage and surfacing works to be carried out.
Benville Lane near Corscombe and off Toller Down Gate on the A356 will be shut in its entirety from August 27 until September 2.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
A parking suspension and clearway will be in place as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking and waiting on the highway along Benville Lane.
A temporary traffic management order will come into operation on July 29 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by September 2.
This order will enable Dorset Council to carry out drainage and surfacing works.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
For more information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Dorset Highways on 01305 228100.
For further information concerning this order, call the Traffic Team on 01305 221020.
