Properties have been left without power in the Bridport area.
Power went off in the West Milton area at around 11am this morning, with over twenty homes affected according to the National Grid.
It is believed to have been caused by a fault in the overhead network.
Engineers were sent to the area at around 1pm and are currently working on the fault.
It is estimated the power will be restored by 6.30pm today.
People have taken to social media to say they have been experiencing problems in the area all day.
A spokesperson for National Grid said: "We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 11:29am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
