A talk is set to take place explaining the legacy of sixteenth century pioneers, and how a seaside town in Dorset has links with St. Georges in Bermuda and Jamestown in Virginia, USA.
John Dover will give the talk, Exploring the Historic Atlantic Triangle, on Saturday, July 20 at the Whitchurch Canonicorum Village Hall. It will take place at 2pm.
The talk will focus on Lyme Regis born and former Whitchurch resident Admiral Sir George Somers, who lived between 1554 to 1610. He played a key role in exploring the Americas at that time.
Entrance to the talk is £3 with light refreshments available.
