A group of keen cyclists is raising funds for the RNLI for the third year running, dedicating their challenges to a friend that passed away.
The group has already raised more than £4,500 for the RNLI by riding from Lyme Regis to Newquay for the past two years in a row.
Each year, the ride has been in memory of a cycling friend, Adam Bounds, who passed away following a brain haemorrhage at the age of 41 in 2021.
Their third sponsored journey, called Ride to the Sun, is scheduled for Saturday, July 20. The total length of the group’s journey is 131 miles.
Organiser Matthew Payne said: “We will be leaving Lyme Regis lifeboat station at 5am to cycle 131 miles to the lifeboat station at Newquay.
“Our great friend Adam loved Lyme Regis, and Lifeboat Week in particular, and we always enjoyed cycling to Newquay.
"Please support us again if you can to raise much need funds for the RNLI, who do such a fantastic job keeping us safe at sea."
In August, the group will set themselves another challenge of walking from the lifeboat station in Exmouth along the coast line to the lifeboat station in Lyme Regis.
