A former café in Lyme Regis is to be converted into housing.
The property, at the end of a terrace in Coombe Street, was known as Water’s Edge. The application states it is no longer viable as a café.
It had previously been used as a milliners, and also a hairdressers called Sally’s.
Dorset Council has agreed the changes which will allow the ground floor commercial area to be used as a kitchen/dining and living area and re-integrated with the rest of the three-storey property as a home.
Minor changes are proposed to the outside of the building, No 19, including the reinstatement of an historic window on the western side at first floor level and blocking off the former café door.
Lyme Regis Town Council had recommended approval of the changes with ward councillor Belinda Bawden saying the changes would be a positive step.
