Bank holidays are synonymous with beer gardens and despite some rain forecast for the weekend - it is definitely beer garden season.

Therefore we have compiled a list of just some of Dorset beautiful beer gardens to enjoy a cold pint with this weekend.

Kings Arms – Portesham

The Kings Arms is a traditional country pub in the west Dorset village of Portesham along the coast road between Weymouth and Bridport.

The pub is one of, if not the best, pub gardens in the county with large garden situated at the front of the pub with a lazy stream weaving its way through, just ideal for a sunny pint.

The pub is also hosting a pop, rock, and funk night on Sunday, May 5, from 9pm.

The Anchor Inn - Seatown

Nestled right on the beach, the Anchor Inn not only has an exceptional beer garden with great views of the Jurassic Coast and is great for a post pint walk.

Famed for its food it is the perfect spot to refuel after a ramble on the beach with a beer and a delicious plate of food made from the ingredients of local suppliers.

You can head west from the pub towards Golden Cap and is a good spot to pick up a fossil or two.

The Scott Arms - Kingston

This pub has arguably the best views of the lot. The historic pub’s garden as stunning views of Corfe Castle looking out over the Purbeck countryside.

The pub is proud of its local drinks selection with a guest ale or two always available, as well as permanent ales from Dorset, Cornish and Hampshire breweries.

They also have a traditional scrumpy on draught, along with a range of bottled lagers and beers – perfect for a sunny bank holiday weekend in the beer garden.

The Greyhound Inn - Sydling St Nicholas

Located in an ancient Thomas Hardy village, this centuries old coaching house has a beautiful beer garden.

With plants and flowers all around it feels like a real idyllic English countryside pub surrounded by pastel-coloured cottages and thatched roofs.

Although the garden is small it is deal for sunny day with a refreshing beverage in hand.

The Langton Arms - Tarrant Monkton

A thatched roof pub situated in the ‘chocolate box’ village near Blandford, this 17th century family-friendly pub boasts a large and beautiful beer garden that blossoms in the spring.

There is even a play area to keep the little ones occupied as you sip on nice refreshing beer.

The pub was also the county winner at the national pub and bar awards last year and has a wonderful à la carte menu with ingredients from local suppliers and there's a 'Garden Menu' for those wanting to dine al fresco.

The Thimble Inn - Piddlehinton

There are two beer gardens at the Thimble Inn with the piddle stream, bridges and views across the piddle valley.

The pub also serves up a creative and innovative menu of seasonal dishes using the best Dorset produce.

There are also award winning local reals ales produced at palmers Brewery in Bridport to enjoy for a cheeky tipple or two.

The Springhead - Sutton Poyntz

A pub known for its rural location, beer garden does not disappoint.

Surrounded by rolling hills and the chalk downs, the beer garden sits next to a duck pond providing a peaceful setting to enjoy a drink in the sunshine.

The Spyway Inn - Askerswell

With awe-inspiring views of Dorset, the garden consists of an open-plan area with the hedges removed to give a view of cattle or sheep grazing in the fields with hillside views that are bordered by a small stream.

And just in case the weather does not hold over the weekend, the pub has built ‘Spypods’, which provide a weatherproof seating and garden views at the same time.

The Greyhound Inn - Corfe Castle

Another pub that offers spectacular views of Corfe Castle while you enjoy your pint – this time right on its doorstep – literally.

There will be live music on Saturday, May 4 from Phil Jinder from 2pm until 4pm and on Sunday, May 5, Tim Young will also be playing from 2pm until 4pm.

On Bank Holiday Monday Carley Varley will be playing from 3pm until 5pm.

The Castle Inn, West Lulworth

Another beautiful, thatched pub that has plenty of outdoor seating with a roadside terrace and a 'magical' rear beer garden great for eating and drinking.

This family and dog friendly pub is Just a stone’s throw away from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door the pub is one of the oldest in the county dating back to the 16th century.
