A man has been arrested after a huge haul of cannabis has been seized from a farm.

Officers from the Weymouth and Bournemouth Force Support Group Teams assisted a Neighbourhood Enforcement Team in executing a series of warrants to search four addresses in the Shaftesbury area of North Dorset. This was carried out under section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

The warrant was executed on Monday, April 29, and a large-scale 'cannabis grow' was found at a farm in the area.

Police reported that, in one location, officers located more than 300 suspected cannabis plants and associated equipment.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a class B drug. He has since been released under investigation as the police conduct further enquiries.

A second man, aged in his 50s, has also been arrested on suspicion of producing a class B drug.
