A Jewish man was told to get in the boot of a car in an alleged kidnap attempt.

A video has been shared online that appears to show two men get out of a car in Moundfield Road, Stamford Hill, and approach a man in Orthodox Jewish dress walking on the pavement, while the boot of the car is opened.

The men are alleged to have told the man to get into the boot of the car.

The Metropolitan Police says the incident is said to have taken place on Friday (April 26) at 5.34pm.

Scotland Yard says a Jewish man was walking down the road when a car reportedly pulled up beside him and two males got out of the vehicle.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The victim was approached by one of the males, who allegedly told the victim to get into the boot of the car, shortly before driving off.

"The incident was reported to the police and an investigation was launched by officers based in Hackney. We are aware of a video being shared online and this will form part of our enquiries.

"We are in contact with the Shomrim and our enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time."
