A main road has been partially blocked due to a broken down lorry.

A section of the A35 near Puddletown has been blocked westbound by the vehicle.

Around 50ft of the inside lane has been cordoned off by police whilst vehicle recovery is arranged.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 7.21am of a broken down lorry on the westbound carriageway of the A35 near Puddletown.

"Recovery is being arranged and officers have attended to assist with traffic management."

At 11.15am police confirmed that the lorry had been recovered and officers had left the scene.
