Roadworks will get underway to resurface a section of road later this evening.

From 8pm, South West Water will be putting traffic management controls along Broad Street as part of the road is tarmacked following recent reinstatement work   

Lyme Regis Town Council had issued a statement on Wednesday, April 24, to say that the  work would be completed by Monday, April 29.

However, South West Water has now confirmed to the News that the roadworks will in fact only take 'a couple of hours' and will not start until later this evening (Thursday, April 25). 

A spokesperson for South West Water said: "We will be starting from 8pm this evening (April 25) and the work will only take a couple and will not last the whole weekend. 

" The road will be tarmacked following recent reinstatement work."
