A MAN who headbutted and slapped his girlfriend in the street has been spared jail.
Kevin Jones, of City Road in Chester, was produced in custody at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old admitted one offence of assault - which took place in Wrexham on Tuesday (April 23).
Prosecutor Hannah Williams told the court that on the day in question, police were called by a member of the public after Jones had been spotted assaulting a woman named Sharona Wright in Chester Street.
He slapped her, then grabbed and headbutted her.
Jones was also seen to throw a bottle at her, but the item didn't make contact.
Ms Williams said the offence is domestic in nature, as Ms Wright is the defendant's partner.
Officers attended the scene and spoke to the victim, but could see no injuries on her.

The victim was not supportive of the prosecution, the court heard.
Emma Simoes, defending, said: "There was no statement forthcoming from her (Ms Wright) but he holds his hands up and accepts he did as alleged.
"He has a number of issues. In recent years, he's been a seasoned visitor before these courts, but having spoken to probation today he does appear to be engaging to a reasonable standard.
"He has been on orders before where his compliance has been frankly woeful, but he has attended quite a few appointments and there is work currently being done with him.
"Alcohol has been the catalyst for the majority of his offending behaviour - and in fact for this one.
"He is working with external agencies and has really tried to cut down the alcohol use, but because of the amount he's been drinking, he can't just stop it - but he has limited it."
Jones received an eight week custodial sentence, but it was suspended for 12 months.
He must pay a £154 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
