A 'vicious' dog attack has killed one sheep and left several others injured from a west Dorset farm
A flock of sheep were attacked by a dog on farmland off of Sheepwash Lane between Broadwindsor and Pilsdon Pen.
The attack left one of the ewes with severe injuries to its legs and neck and died shortly after being found.
Several other ewes were left injured after defending themselves from the dog.
Dorset Police have just released information regarding the attack and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or has information regarding the attack to come forward.
A Dorset Police Rural Crime Team spokesperson said: "On Thursday, March 21 between 3pm and 5.45pm a dog attacked a flock of sheep on farmland off of Sheepwash Lane between Broadwindsor and Pilsdon Pen.
"One ewe was severely injured with bite marks on back end, legs and neck and unfortunately it died shortly after it was found.
"Other ewes were bitten with injuries to the front end where they are believed to be defending themselves from the dog.
"These are being treated, The rest of the flock are very stressed and have clearly been chased.
"This is a vicious attack where the dog has been allowed to jump a secure livestock fencing and attack the flock."
