The replacement of a telephone pole will force the temporary closure of road in Lyme Regis later this month.
Dorset Council has issued a public notice to close Haye Lane between its junction with Roman Road and its junction with the B3165, a distance of approximately 275 metres.
The notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users as Openreach replace a BT pole.
It will come into force between 8am and 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 12 and remain in force for five days, however it is anticipated that the work will be completed by March 13.
An alternative route will be put in place, which will be sign posted is as follows: Roman Road - South Avenue - A3052 - B3165
For further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Openreach on 01460 763100.
