Part of a town centre street will be closed for a day to allow for 'sewer assets' to be cleaned.
Wessex Water will be undertaking the work which will see a section of East Street close on Monday, February 26 from 8.30am until 4.30pm.
All vehicles will be prohibited from accessing the road from East Road Roundabout and the entrance to The Bridge House Hotel, a distance of approximately 75 metres.
The public notice issued by Dorset Council is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users.
Drivers will have to use South Street to access the East Road Roundabout.
For further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600.
To discuss the notice, contact Dorset Council on 01305 221020 or via www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks/enquiries
