A warning is in place after sewage and pollution has been discharged into the sea in five areas of west Dorset.

Following heavy rainfall, pollution alerts have been put in place in West Bay, Eype, Seatown, Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

Surfers Against Sewage is tracking real-time sewage discharge and pollution risks around the UK.

This comes after the heavy rains on Saturday, the group reports that sewage has been discharged in places across the south of England.

A statement from Surfers Against Sewage said: "Pollution Alert: Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours."
