Residents in Bridport that need help with using their computers can take advantage of a council run scheme.

Dorset Council's Digital Champions initiative sees computer savvy expert volunteers offer advice and help on a range of online and technical skills.

Bridport Library offers two opportunities for members of the local community to get help with things like setting up their devices including mobile phones, tablets and computer as well as how to get online and do things like a shopping, access NHS services, or set up software like Skype or Zoom to enable them to keep in touch with family members.

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "Do you, or someone you know, need friendly help with anything digital?

"Digital Champions could be the answer, they can help you on the phone through the Dorset digital hotline, or in person at Bridport Library Monday from 10:15am to 1:15pm and Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.

"They are a group of friendly and patient volunteers who are good at explaining computers, without using jargon. They have an enthusiasm for all things digital and look forward to the chance to show you how it works, and no problem is too small."
