A DORSET man is ‘set for life’ after winning in The National Lottery.

A retired man, known only as Mr R, has won £10,000 a month for a year after matching the five main numbers in the Set For Life draw.

Mr R played a lucky dip via The National Lottery app, before being announced as winner in the draw on January 4.

He became one of more than eight million players that win each week in The National Lottery’s range of games.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Wow, what fantastic news for Mr R, and a brilliant way to start the new year.

“He can now look forward to receiving £10,000 every month for an entire year. Huge congratulations.”

Set For Life is a draw-based game.

Players pick five main numbers from 1 to 47, and one ‘life ball’ from 1 to 10, for the chance to win fixed prizes.

The top prize is £10,000 a month for 30 years and the second prize is £10,000 a month for one year.

The game costs £1.50 per line and is drawn every Monday and Thursday.

Players can buy tickets in shops, play online or by downloading The National Lottery app.
