A BOAT management company in Lyme Regis has helped raise more than £8,000 for a charity helping seafarers in need.
Lyme Bay Boats is a company that deals with the management of boats for boat owners in Lyme Regis.
Every year the company holds a charity event, The Jolly Day Out, with fun boating activities and a charity auction to raise money for The Shipwrecked Mariners Society - a charity which was initially set up to assist those that have been in peril on the sea.
The charity now helps former seafarers and fishermen who are suffering with financial hardship or illness and those who are "emotionally shipwrecked".
Around 200 people attended the charity event in August 2023, helping to raise a total of £8,759.12.
A cheque was presented to the charity at The Royal Standard in Lyme Regis.
A spokesperson for Lyme Bay Boats said: "It’s a great effort for the supporters of The Jolly Day Out.
"We would like to give thanks to all who attended and to Lyme Regis Harbourmaster James Radcliffe."
