The clock is ticking and every second counts as a cherished children's theatre group scrabbles to raise the £20,000 it needs to continue touring its shows - with just hours to go.

Stuff and Nonsense, based in Bridport, brings joy to children and families far and wide with its touring theatre shows.

The charity has performed to more than 320,000 people nationwide since 2010 and prides itself on bringing creative, innovative performances to children's lives.

But it needs your help.

The company's van was scrapped earlier this year as it was no longer safe to use. It has been relying on hire vehicles ever since, something it says is costly and unsustainable.

A Crowdfunder aims to raise £20,000 to secure the future of the show tours

With almost five hours left until deadline, the total stands at £17,495, and the charity is hoping for one last push and for the public to dig deep.

Artistic director Niki McCretton told the News: "As a highly popular touring children's theatre company, having a reliable tour van is vital to the work we do.

"We are a small charity and rely on the support of our audiences and the general public as well as public funding.

"Donating to our campaign and helping us reach our goal of £20,000 will literally keep our shows on the road and touring to families across the UK.

"We need to travel to far flung places to work with children who don’t normally get to see or be involved in this creative projects. Schools really struggle at the moment so it’s people like us that are able to enhance the curriculum and bring creativity to the school and classroom."
