A crash in Beaminster saw the young driver of a Land Rover ‘ask if the other driver was okay’, before taking off without providing any details.

The crash occurred at around 6.30pm on Saturday, November 18, in The Square, and involved a black Toyota Yaris and a dark silver Land Rover.

The young male driver of the Land Rover got out of his vehicle to ask if the Toyota driver was okay, he then said he would move his vehicle, but it is reported that he drove off towards Bridport without returning and did not leave any details.

Police are investigating the fail-to-stop collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Dan White, of Bridport police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation and would ask witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“Also, I am appealing to the driver of the Land Rover to please get in touch so we can take your account of what happened.”
