Crowds gathered in Beaminster to honour those who lost their lives in wars.

The town honoured Remembrance Day 2023 with a parade beginning at the Fire Station, setting off down Hogshill Street, around the square and finishing at St Mary's Church where a service was held.

Those joining the parade included the Royal British Legion, Beaminster Town Council, The Scouts, Beaminster St Mary’s Academy and Beaminster School, the Women’s Institute and Chris Loder MP.

Darren Marklew, headteacher from St Mary's Academy spoke of his pride about his pupils that took part in the parade.

He said: "At St Mary's we see it as an honour to be part of Beaminster wonderful Remembrance Parade.

"I'm also incredibly proud that so many of our children take the time to take part in this moving tribute and ensure that those who took part in conflicts are never forgotten."
