The countdown is on for a highly anticipated event which is set to illuminate West Bay.

Bonfire by the Beach will return to East Beach with a bang on Saturday, October 28, from 4pm with plenty of excitement and activities.

Organisers of the event, West Bay Days, have promised that this year’s display will be ‘even bigger and better’ than ever, thanks to some extra funding from Bridport Round Table.

James Radcliffe, Chair of West Bay Days said: “We always put on a good event for the public and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for local groups and charities, including the Bridport youth football club and rugby club, as well as the West Bay kayak club.

“We are working with the Round Table so we have more funds available for a bigger and better display.

“We also have the bonfire and live music, fairground rides, as well as a free shuttle bus running from Bridport to West Bay from 5pm.

“I’m looking forward to all of it, it’s good to see so many people come down. We normally see between 2,500-3,000 people.”

The free event will see live entertainment from musicians including Nina Garcia, Mustang Sally, and What the Phunk.

There is also a ‘Guy competition’ with the winner taking the honour of lighting the bonfire.

Last year’s event was a roaring success, raising £6,396.21 for local groups and causes.

Donations are encouraged to raise funds for local groups and causes.

Visitors are encouraged to leave dogs at home.
