Motorists face overnight closures along part of the coast road.
A diversion is in place at Burton Bradstock from 8pm until 6am this week while the road is resurfaced.
The work started on Wednesday night and Dorset Council says it is scheduled for completion by 6am this Sunday.
The road will close along Barr Lane up to the Texaco garage during that time.
During the closure periods, there is no on street parking available and temporary parking restrictions are in place.
The council said: "This resurfacing work is part of our annual programme of maintenance around the Dorset Council area when we resurface roads near or at the end of the life to repair the structure and surface and restore shape and strength."
