Ex-AFC Bournemouth football player Junior Stanislas will not appear in court tomorrow after speeding charges were dropped against him.

Stanislas was due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Tuesday September 12, charged with speeding in a west Dorset village.

The 33-year-old, who lives in Poole, was accused of driving five miles an hour over the speed limit on the A35 in Winterbourne Abbas in December.

The village has a speed limit of 30mph.

He was also accused of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required on January 12, 2023 at Dorset Police's headquarters in Winfrith Newburgh.

These charges have now been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) after "new information" arose.

A CPS spokesperson said: “The CPS has a duty to keep cases under constant review. As a result of new information, it was decided that it was no longer in the public interest to continue with the prosecution of this case.”
