Police are seeking the owner of a runaway peacock.
The stray bird has been wandering the streets of Litton Cheney prompting Rural Crime Team officers to write a tongue-in-cheek open letter to residents.
It says:
Dear Residents of Litton Cheney,
'We have a feathered friend in need of your help and a loving home!
'Our delightful village peacock has been strutting its stuff through our picturesque streets, but it's time to reunite this majestic bird with its rightful owner.
'If you are the proud guardian of this splendid peacock, or if you know who might be, we kindly ask you to come forward.
'This enchanting creature has captured the hearts of our community, and it yearns for the care and attention only its true owner can provide.
'We understand that sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and our peacock may have ventured a little too far from home.
'No matter the circumstances, we're here to ensure a joyful reunion.
'Please, don't let our peacock's longing for home and companionship go unanswered. Reach out to us at https://crowd.in/W0By2k/ quoting reference 55230141029 so we can make this heart warming reunion happen.
Sincerely,
Dorset Police Rural Crime Team
