Here is a selection of animals from the Ashley Heath Animal Centre in Dorset who are looking for their forever home.
Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.

Annie
Gender - Female
Age - 13 years old
Breed - Yorkshire Terrier
Colour - Black & Tan

Annie is described as a "playful old lady" who is looking for a quiet home with short walks and "a nice cosy sofa".
She will need a home free from children and other pets and potential adopters will need to live within an hour of the animal centre so they can visit Annie often and establish a bond before going home.
Ashley Heath Animal Centre adds: "Annie came from a household of 44 dogs whose owner was a hoarder and a recluse. Understandably, she can be a little standoffish when first meeting someone new but the more time she spends with them the more affectionate and playful she becomes towards them."
Luna
Gender - Female
Age - Two years old
Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour - Tortoiseshell

Luna is described as a "sweet" cat who adores lots of fuss and enjoys being brushed.
She came to Ashley Heath with another cat, but stopped getting along with them so it is felt she should be the only cat in a home.
Additionally, she is not to be rehomed within 5 miles of Christchurch (BH23).
Penny
Gender - Female
Age - 12 years old
Breed - Lurcher crossbreed
Colour - Brindle

Penny is a dog who is looking for a retirement home to "be thoroughly spoilt in her twilight years".
Although she may never have lived in a conventional home set up before, it is thought by the Ashley Heath Animal Centre it wouldn't take her too long to settle in.
A quiet, adult-only home would be best for Penny as she will probably need a calm environment to move into.
Maple and Syrup
Gender - Male
Age - Between six and 12 months old
Breed - Domestic
Colour - Ginger, white and black

Maple and Syrup came into the RSPCA centre after sadly being found abandoned in a park together.
Both can be a little wary but they are now looking to find a forever home together.
They enjoy having a run around together and sharing their veggies in the evening.
