THOUSANDS of festival goers of all ages will flock to Dorset later this month for Camp Bestival.

The popular annual event is now in its 15th year.

Here’s everything you need to know about the family-friendly festival that promises something for everyone.

Where is it happening?

Camp Bestival is held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle at East Lulworth.

When is it?

It runs between Thursday, July 27 and Sunday, July 30.

Who is on the line-up?

Visitors will be able to enjoy a host of acts from music icons to pop outfits, children’s performers to a Eurovision favourite.

They include Grace Jones, Craig David Presents TS5, The Kooks, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Ella Henderson.

Confidence Man, Sam Ryder, Melanie C and Scouting For Girls will also feature.

Gok Wan, Fat Tony, Jo Whiley’s Festival Anthems, David Rodigan, Todd Terry, Caity Baser and Fearne Cotton will also appear.

Plus there’s Billy Bragg, Roni Size, East 17 Christmas Special and Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana.

Meanwhile, Mr Tumble, Dick and Dom, Mister Maker & Utah Saints and Horrible Histories will entertain the little ones.

What else is there to look forward to?

A Red Devils Parachute Display, roller disco, extreme bike battle, Mr Motivator, Cosmic Kids Yoga and circus performers are also on the bill.

To top it all off, the event will end with a bang with a fireworks spectacular on the Sunday night.

What can I eat and drink?

In terms of food and drink, visitors can tuck into everything from an oyster cart to gyoza, pizza, noodles, mac n cheese, to Brazilian inspired hot dogs.

How much are tickets?

An adult weekend ticket is from £230, £150 for children aged 13 to 17, £125 for 10 to 12s, £105 for those aged 5 to 9, £85 for two to fours.

Saturday tickets are from £220 for a family bundle of two adults and two children, £85 for adults and £50 for teenagers, £35 for children aged 10 to 12, £27.50 for children aged 5 to 9, £17.50 for kids aged two to four and free but tickets required for babies aged one and under.

Friday and Sunday day tickets are £200 for a family bundle, £75 for adults, £40 for teenagers, £30 for children aged 10 to 12, £25 for youngsters five to 9, £15 for two to fours.

All above tickets have booking fees.

Entry is free for babies one and under but they will require a ticket.

What about camping?

There are several different types of camping field (plus campervan and caravan/trailer tent fields) at Camp Bestival.

Camp Bestival organisers say each of the sites are with car parks relatively close by to reduce how far you'll need to walk with all your kit, and each with their own sets of showers, loos, food stalls, recycling points and more.

All campsites open on Thursday to give you an extra day to arrive early and set up camp. 

What time do sites open and close?

Thursday, July 27

Car parks will be open from 9am. Box offices and campsites open at 10am. Campervans and caravans/trailer tents fields open at 10am. Accessible campsite opens at 9am. 

Friday, July 28, Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 

Car parks and campsite entrances open at 7am.

There's no entry or re-entry into the festival site after midnight on any night. No entry into the festival site after 8.30pm on Sunday.


Monday, July 31

Campsites close at midday and car parks at 2pm.
