The air ambulance landed in Bridport late last night after police found an elderly woman injured at an address in the town.

Dorset Police received a report of a disturbance at an address along Pine View, off Magdalen Lane, just after 10pm. 

Officers arrived and found a woman injured at the scene. 

The ambulance service and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were scrambled, with the air ambulance landing nearby at around 10.40pm. 

A spokesperson for the air ambulance confirmed its team attended the incident, which involved an elderly female.

"Our team assisted on scene and the patient was taken to hospital by road ambulance," they said. 

According to Dorset Police, the woman's injuries are not believed to be serious.

"She was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service," said a spokesperson for the force.

"An investigation was carried out to establish the circumstances of what happened and following enquiries, no further police action will be taken."
