Bridport Heritage Forum has taken a leaf out of the book of TV presenter David Olusoga and his popular programme A House Through Time.

The forum is planning to investigate the history and heritage of Bridport and West Bay, through a study of houses and the families who lived in them since they were built.

The forum would love to involve as many local people as possible who might be interested in finding out about the house they live in – discovering the stories of the residents that came before them, and the times they lived through.

To kickstart the project, a meeting is being held at Mountfield on Wednesday, June 14 at 7.30pm to talk about the scheme and plan the first steps to 'discovery'.

A spokesman said: "Everyone will be very welcome, no previous knowledge of your house is necessary…just a curious mind and the desire to be a detective!"

If you are interested and can’t get to the meeting, contact sheilannmeaney@btinternet.com for more information.
