The Annual General Meeting of the Lyme Regis Society is set to take place next week.

The meeting will be hosted at Woodmead Halls on Hill Road in Lyme Regis on Tuesday, April 18 at 2pm.

Following the meeting, a talk by Peter Coe will take place on Medieval Lyme: Burgage Walls and Protected Sites.

Refreshments will be available to purchase from the venue.

The Lyme Regis Society aims to safeguard the natural and architectural beauty of Lyme Regis and its neighbourhood, in accordance with its civic requirements, and to promote interest in its cultural and historical associations.

It does this by assisting the town council with projects to enhance the town, commenting on proposed developments to ensure they respect the natural and architectural beauty of the town, educating people about the town, its heritage and its environs through talks, newsletters and booklets, monitoring country footpaths around the town and reporting problems to the appropriate councils and trying to protect trees within the town from unnecessary lopping or felling.

The event is open to everyone and entry is £3 or free for members.
