To the people that live in Barrack Street, Bridport.

On Thursday 2nd March, we had just arrived in the cottage we had rented.

I had parked the car and walked back to our cottage - I just wanted to get my bearings and stepped back off the pavement, not realising it was some 12 inches or so high, I tipped over and crashed onto my hip and back and was immediately full of pain.

I was now lying in the road unable to move, and not for long as the kind people of Barrack Street rallied round, called an ambulance and found me blankets and a hot water bottle.

We had a little dog with us. My wife was called and also cared for. A neighbour took our dog while my wife accompanied me to Dorset County Hospital where I was admitted and operated on the next morning.

I am pleased to say I am on the mend and want to say “thank you” all of you kind people from Barrack Street.
