A MAN has appeared in court after being stopped by police with a large kitchen knife in his possession.
Elliot John Fell, whose address was given as Coast Road in Burton Bradstock, appeared before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 21 where he admitted one offence: possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The charge relates to an incident on March 19 of this year when Fell, aged 49, had in his possession a kitchen knife, with a six inch blade, whilst on Bridport Road near Beaminster.
Fell, represented by Lee Christmas, was remanded into custody until April 11 to allow for probation to complete a pre-sentence report.
Sentencing guidelines for possession of a bladed article put the custody starting point at six months with a range of between three months and 30 months.
Fell will return to Poole Magistrates’ Court on April 11 for sentencing.
