A charitable talk with an architectural historian will delve into Bridport’s history.
‘The Making of Bridport’ will take place on Thursday, March 9 from 7pm at the Literary and Scientific Institute (LSi) in Bridport.
Hosted by Dr Tim Connor, an architectural historian and former head of history at a major public school, the talk will focus on what happened in the mid-19th century, but also what did not happen.
He will examine the key developments that saw the community achieve its present form and which were fundamental to the making of Bridport and proceeds will go to the Bridport Area Development Trust.
Dr Connor has written several accounts of the small areas in his immediate neighbourhood, their churches and monuments.
His publications include Wytherston (2010), followed by North Eggardon Farm (2015), West Milton (2016) and The Literary and Scientific Institute, Bridport (2018).
Tickets are £5 and available to purchase from Bridport Tourist Information Centre.
