CAUSES ‘making a change for Bridport’ are being invited to apply for funding from a £50,000 pot provided by Wessex Water.

The funding is being offered by Wessex Water as part of their ‘community connectors’ campaign aimed at rewarding projects making a difference in the local area.

The aim of the fund is to support new projects in Bridport throughout 2023 and 2024 to help produce solutions to the issues identified as important to local people and Wessex Water.

A spokesperson for Wessex Water said: We want to work in partnership with the community to make the changes needed.

“We are now seeking exciting new projects led by community-based groups to help address these goals.”

Projects that meet one of the following four goals are invited to apply:

  • Help people lower their bills or provide better access to support
  • Help people save water
  • Help change behaviour to prevent blockages
  • Protect and improve local rivers and waterways

Causes can apply for grants between £1,000 and £5,000 with a small number of projects being eligible for up to £10,000.

Projects have until March 3 to apply via the Dorset Community Foundation’s website.
