A man has been banned from a block of residential flats after admitting a charge of domestic burglary.
Peter John Longley, of no fixed abode, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court for sentencing having previously pleaded guilty to one count of ‘burglary dwelling and theft’.
The court heard how, on September 23 of last year, Longley entered a bedroom on Princess Road, in Bridport, as a trespasser and proceeded to steal three scratchcards and a watch, which had a combined value of £400.
Longley, 38, was made subject to a community order and a drug rehabilitation requirement to last until January 2024.
A restraining order was imposed prohibiting contact, direct or indirect, with the victim and ordering him not to enter a block of flats on Princess Road for a period of two years.
He must also pay £413 in compensation.
