A concert for music lovers looking to chase away the winter blues will be returning by popular demand later this month.

Musician Mitch Hiller will be joined by his friends and a special guest for a concert at the Chapel in The Garden, Bridport on Saturday, February 25.

Mr Hiller will sing, play and recount stories from a life in music as he raises funds for the chapel. He will be supported in this fundraiser by Richard Smith on harmonica, John Hinsley on percussion and his special guest John Marshall vocals/guitar.

Rev. Elizabeth Harley, Minister for the Unitarian Chapel said: "We are so lucky to have Mitch in our congregation as the concert Mitch held for the chapel last year was a terrific success, it was a great night and the audience really enjoyed it.

“We are so grateful to him and his friends for holding this fundraiser for us as the Chapel has a long list of urgent repairs, from a seriously wobbly kitchen floor to the eternal problem for old buildings… damp!”

Mitch comes from a musical family who have worked with everyone, from Al Jolson to Lady Gaga and he personally has either written for, performed with or produced artists as varied as Chicken Shack, The Foundations, (Build me Up Buttercup), Chaka Khan, Geno Washington, Amy Winehouse, Voyager, Billy Ocean and many more. He has worked with producers such as Gus Dudgeon (Elton John, David Bowie), Chris Neil (Celine Dion) and Martin Ware (Tina Turner).

“The range of musicians and producers that Mitch has worked with is a testament to his talent and the respect and esteem he held in by the musical profession. It will be a glorious show full of joy, music, laughter and Mitch’s love of music,” added Margie Barbour, one of the fundraising groups from the congregation.

“We will have a busy weekend, as on Friday, February 24 at 6pm there will be a special service to reflect on the invasion of Ukraine a year ago. There will be an opportunity to light candles of love for Ukraine and Ukrainians, with moments of silence, prayers, music, and reflections on the past year.

"Everyone is welcome to the service, as they are to the weekly service at 11am on Sunday 26 January which will also reflect on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.”

Mitch can be heard on Spotify, Amazon Music, Youtube, Apple music and most streaming services.

The concert will start at 7pm with the doors and bar opening at 6pm. Tickets are £10 from the Bridport Tourist Information Centre - 01308 424901,  Linda - 07757 226747 and at the Chapel itself.
