A road in West Bay will be closed for a few days for works.

Vehicles will be prevented from travelling on Forty Foot Way, West Bay outside Driftwood apartments – a distance of approximately 50 metres - from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, January 31, and is expected to be completed on Thursday, February 2.

The work is being conducted by Jurassic Fibre Ltd to dig to locate blockages. There will be no specified alternative route for diverting traffic.

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: “The closure is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.”

Penny Jones, Community Engagement Ambassador for Jurassic Fibre said: “This is great news for West Bay residents who will soon have the option of connecting to our ultrafast ultra-reliable broadband network. If you register your interest online, we will let you know as soon as your property goes live: https://jurassic-fibre.com/

"The work in question shouldn’t take more than one day and we always maintain access for residents.”
